Apple Aperture to stop working after macOS Mojave
Hidden away in a note in Apple support is the announcement that Apple’s macOS will no longer support Aperture after the current Mojave (10.14) version. Apple discontinued the development of Aperture in 2014.

Ikelite announces housing for Fujifilm X-T3
Ikelite has announced their new housing for the Fujifilm X-T3 mirrorless camera. Constructed of the company’s trademark ABS, the housing features the Dry Lock port system and an integrated vacuum valve. It ships with a manual flash hotshoe, and optional TTL converters are available.

Ikelite has announced a series of electrical TTL converters for Fujifilm cameras. Available connections include Nikonos N5, Ikelite ICS-5, and Ikelite FT1 hotshot versions.
UW Technics ships TTL board for Panasonic GH5
UW Technics are shipping a new TTL conversion board for the Panasonic GH5/GH5s housed in Nauticam housings. It offers both optical and electrical strobe triggering and supports most popular strobes. The board allows for camera control of manual strobe output and can be user installed.
Hugyfot introduce Vision Xs housing
Hugyfot has announced their new Vision Xs housing for GoPro 5,6 and 7 action cameras. It has an integrated Feelword F5 monitor with its battery, providing 3 hours of life and is rated for between 150 to 200 meters (490 to 650 feet).
RIP Samuel “Doc” Gruber
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Samuel “Doc” Gruber, founder of the Bimini Biological Field Station on Thursday 18 April. Doc was a shark biologist and founder of the American Elasmobranch Society. He was a Professor at the University of Miami and a recognized authority on shark science, having completed 49 Atlantic research cruises and over 170 scientific publications. The Wetpixel community sends our thoughts and prayers to his family and friends
RED releases REDCINE-X
ED CINE-X is now out of beta and available for production use. Perhaps most crucially, the new version allows for real-time decode of the 6K footage when processed with compatible NVIDIA hardware. The process is handled by the CUDA cores on the GPU and this allows the editing to be carried out on native footage, rather than proxies.
