Solmar V offers Wetpixel member free trip to the Socorro Islands
The Solmar V liveaboard has announced a special promotion for Wetpixel members - a free dive trip to the Socorro Islands on the 112’ vessel! The lucky member will be selected at the end of 2009 from the winners of the weekly Wetpixel Photo of the Week (POTW) Competition.

Inon America announces business operations suspended
After over five years of supporting the underwater photographic community of the Americas, Inon America has been forced to close by its parent companies, Japanese manufacturers Inon, Inc and Seanet, Inc. Inon America President and Founder Mark Rupert today posted a press release explaining the circumstances behind the action, revealing that Inon, Inc. and Seanet, Inc. have decided to sell directly to their customer base and refuse shipments to the company.

Alex Mustard writes PhotoPro Column
DIVE Magazine (UK) is proud to announce that underwater photographer and Wetpixel’s Associate Editor, Alex Mustard, will be writing a monthly column, PhotoPro. Alex said, “While PhotoPro unashamedly focuses on the methods of UW photography, it will not be a tech-fest mired in jargon. It is about the key aspects of the photographic process that differentiate producing a stunning shot from an average one.” PhotoPro starts in the February 2009 issue, on sale soon.
