Delkin USB Bridge
Rob Galbraith has gotten a chance to test the Delkin USB Bridge - a product that allows users to connect two USB devices without using a computer. The unit tested was USB1.1 only, not the faster USB2.0 Applications for digital photographers are many, but a few that I can think of right off the bat are: connecting your digital camera directly to a portable USB hard drive, connecting a camera directly to a portable CD or DVD writer, and copying images from one CF card to another using 2 card readers. Rob tested a prototype unit. Delkin's announced price is $70 US.

Digital Shootout Fiji 2004 Webcast
Hello, from Fiji! James and I are having a great time here at the Digital Shootout 2004 in Taveuni. It's been a lot of fun to spend time with the participants and the Backscatter, Light & Motion, and Optiquatics guys.
I'm in the process of uploading a web report of the first three days of the Digital Shootout. The modem is slow; expect the upload to be completed in an hour or two!
Digital Shootout Fiji Webcast 2004
Eric Cheng and James Wiseman report from Taveuni, Fiji, where they are participating as staff in this year's Digital Shootout in Fiji. The Digital Shootout is a learning event sponsored by Backscatter, Light & Motion, and Optiquatics. This year's lecturers include Backscatter's Berkley White, professional marine photographer Jim Watt, Adobe evangelists Julieanne Kost and Daniel Brown, Richard Todd of Todd Productions, and Wetpixel's Eric Cheng.
Fiji Digital Shootout
Eric Cheng and James Wiseman will be out of town for the Fiji Digital Shootout 2004 from May 6-20, but Craig Jones will be manning all things Wetpixel in the meantime.
Keep your eyes peeled for an announcement here. Internet connection permitting, Eric will be posting periodic updates from the field.

The May/June 2004 Official Photo Contest is now live. We're currently coordinating the judging of the previous contest, but do not anticipate results being announced until June because much of the Wetpixel staff will be out of town for the next few weeks.
Let's get going in the new contest! Let's see what you have. :)
