The Underwater Photographer of the Year (UPY) contest announced the winners of its 2020 contest at the Go Diving Show in Coventry, UK. Hearty congratulations to all those among the placings, and to Greg Lecoeur for his image featuring crabeater seals swimming around an iceberg that was the overall winner.
Sony announces full frame 20mm wide angle lens
Sony has announced their FE 20mm f/1.8 G full-frame wide angle lens. It has a minimum focus distance of 0.19m (0.63 ft), 5 optical elements and Sony’s Nano AR coating.
Inon releases new products and compatibility information
Inon has announced a series of updates, improvements and compatibility announcements. The company has announced a “Reinforce Ring Set” for their underwater tripod, new lanyard plates and compatibility details for their magnetic zoom ring system with the Panasonic 14-42mm zoom lens.
EUDI Show postponed until November
Due to concerns about the COVID 19 virus, the 2020 European Dive Show (EUDI), which was due to be held from 28 February to 1 March in Bologna, Italy has been postponed until 27 November. It will be held at the same venue.
Ikelite announces housing for Nikon D780
Ikelite has announced their housing for the Nikon D780 SLR camera. Constructed of ABS-PC and fitted with Ikelite’s Dry Lock (DL) port mount it ships with a manual lash hotshoe (TTL versions is available as an option) and a vacuum valve.
UW Technics Sony firmware supports Retra Pro Flash TTL
UW Technics has announced updated firmware for their Nauticam mounted Sony TTL converters, that supports the Retra Pro flash. It can be controlled via either the camera’s menu, or the flash’s controls. It also supports Retra’s high-speed sync option.
