Follow Wetpixel at Beneath the Sea! Photo

Follow Wetpixel at Beneath the Sea!

We’ve arrived in Secaucus, NJ and will be heading over to the Meadowlands Exposition Center soon to set up for Beneath the Sea 2010. If you’re going to BTS, please stop by booth 109 to say hi! We’ll be showing off our magazine and t-shirts while we cover the show. I bumped into Blake, Norma, Jean and Joe (Aquatica) at the airport and resisted the urge to snap a few photos for pre-show coverage.

We’ve still got a few extra exhibits-only passes for BTS. If you’re interested, follow @wetpixel on Twitter and send us a message with a request! I suspect that there are only a handful of dive folks who use Twitter, but it’s worth a try.

Aquatica announces port adapters for Subal and Sea and Sea Photo

Aquatica announces port adapters for Subal and Sea and Sea

Aquatica today announced that they are releasing a series of port adapters to allow owners of other housing systems to migrate to the Aquatica line. The first will accommodate older generation Subal (Type 3) ports. This adapter actually fits inside the Aquatica bayonet, and does not add any extension to the ports being adapted. As a result, any lenses can be used as they normally would have on a Subal housing, from the Nikon 10.5mm fisheye on up the focal range.

The second port adapter will accept Sea & Sea NX generation ports, but due to size restrictions adds a small amount of extension. This has been specifically calculated to accommodate the Tokina 10-17 zoom without further extension. Both ports adapters are manufactured from anodized aluminum, and are slated to ship this spring with a suggested retail price of $95.
