Bite-Back launches competition
UK-based environmental charity, Bite-Back has launched a competition to win a holiday to Fiji. The raffle has 1000 tickets priced at £10 each, with the proceeds being split between Bite-Back and Marie Curie Cancer Care. Bite-Back raises funds for shark and marine conservation.
The prize includes 7 nights stay in Fiji, as well as internal flights and 10 guided dives.
FIJI FOR A TENNER (10 UK pounds!)
Even Paul Daniels would struggle with this trick – turn a £10 note into a trip for two to Fiji with flights, accommodation and diving included – but that’s exactly what the charity team at Bite-Back At Cancer plan to do for one lucky ticket holder in a brand new, fund-raising lottery, sponsored by Tourism Fiji.
Just 1,000 tickets, seductively priced at £10 each, have gone on sale at the Bite-Back website to raise vital funds for the shark and marine conservation charity, Bite-Back, and Marie Curie Cancer Care with one ticket winning a trip of a lifetime to the tropical paradise of Fiji.
In association with Dive Worldwide, the prize – worth more than £4,000 -includes an international flights to Fiji with Korean Air, internal flight with Air Pacific to the remote island of Kadavu along with seven nights full board at Fiji’s Premier Eco Adventure Resort, Matava, plus 10 guided dives.
Spokesperson for Bite-Back At Cancer, Stuart Keasley, said: “We can’t thank our friends at Tourism Fiji enough for giving us this amazing fund-raising opportunity. We hope to raise £10,000 for these two remarkable charities and we think the lure of Fiji will be too hard to ignore for hundreds of divers.
“Considering that two people will experience this breath-taking holiday for £5 each we hope the diving community can get behind this stunning prize and share the excitement of experiencing Fiji for just 71p per person per day! How amazing is that?”
In addition to being famous as the soft coral capital of the world, the tropical waters of Fiji are also renowned for close encounters with manta rays, hammerhead, grey reef, white tip and silvertip sharks.
Market representative for Tourism Fiji, Martin Harlow, said:
“Fiji is a dream destination and we love the idea of making a dream come true for one lucky winner and guest. At the same time the competition highlights the underwater majesty of the islands and Fiji’s commitment to protecting and celebrating its shark population.”
According to the web site Bite-Back website divers can increase their chances of winning by buying multiple tickets. For that reason the Bite-Back At Cancer team are urging divers to ‘get in quick’ to avoid disappointment.
The winning ticket will be drawn on the night of the Bite-Back At Cancer ball, Saturday 24 September in London.
