CMAS, in conjunction with local diving and tourism associations, has announced that the European Underwater Photography and Video Championship will be held from 3 to 8 October in Madeira, Portugal. The event is soliciting entries formational teams. Full rules are available (pdf download). Wetpixel plans to attend and keep the community informed about all the twists and turns of the contest.

Why one when we can have two?

Last year, we held the World Championship of Underwater Photography and Video in Porto Santo. Subsequently, the opportunity arose to organize the third European Underwater Photography Championship and the second European Underwater Video Championship, in Madeira too.This is in conjunction with CMAS, the Portuguese Federation of Underwater Activities, Madeira Government, City of Funchal, Madeira Swimming Association, and Madeira Underwater. We hope that together we will show the world the underwater wonders of Madeira.
