The British & Irish Underwater Photography Championship
Could you be the 2015 British & Irish underwater photography champion?
The British Society of Underwater Photographers has launched a prestigious new competition to showcase the top talent in British & Irish underwater photography.
This not-for-profit competition seeks to engage the full British & Irish underwater photography community in a 5th September on-the-day challenge.
It is an open format competition for anybody who can dive in the UK & Irish Republic. Images will be submitted on line to a central panel of three experienced judges comprising Martin Edge, Peter Rowlands and Steve Jones. The results will be announced and prizes awarded on 19th September. The prizes come from a significant list of sponsors and include a holiday in Egypt with flights, accommodation and a dive package, plus generous cash vouchers, dive and camera gear.
Post processing will be allowed to reflect current digital practice.
There will be three main entry categories: 2 open (wide angle & macro); 1 restricted (compact and action cameras). With two additional awards for overall champion and best newcomer, this means 5 awards overall with 3 runners up:
- British & Irish underwater photography champion.
- Best open wide angle image and runner up.
- Best open macro image and runner up.
- Best compact image and runner up (wide angle or macro).
- Best newcomer.
Registration is open on line and must be not later than 28th August, through the BIUPC web site, from which you can get all of the competition details, including the rules and prizes.
