Shadows in a Desert Sea was originally produced and directed by Howard Hall in 1992. The film won numerous awards including Best Cinematography at Wildscreen 1992 and the Grand Prize at Antibes 1992. Shadows in a Desert Sea was originally captured in standard 16 mm film and then mastered to Digital Betacam. To revitalize the film, Hall up-converted the digital beta master to 16x9 HD. He has also replaced many of the original shots with recently acquired HD images. The film retains its original soundtrack with George Page’s narration as seen on PBS Nature. This Vimeo version was uploaded in 720p. The film can be seen in 1080p on Amazon Prime Video.
