First Lembeh vs Gulen Critter Shootout is underway
The Critter Shootout has officially kicked off at Gulen Dive Resort, Norway and Lembeh Dive Resort, Indonesia.
Tobias Friedrich is leading the workshops during the shootout in Lembeh and has already spoken several times to the group of shooters. Last night after dinner, Tobias went over the rules of the shootout with the group while we waited for the last two participants to arrive.
In the morning, after a good night’s sleep, Tobias gave the group some tips on shooting in Lembeh, macro shooting techniques, and specifics on shooting nudibranchs, the first competition subject.
Then we all got together for a group shot and headed out for our dives for the day.
For those that have never dove Lembeh, the location is famous for its muck diving. Interesting critters abound in a sandy and “mucky” bottom.
Today and tomorrow the group will be shooting nudibranchs to enter into the competition. Images from both Lembeh and Gulen will be uploaded to Facebook tomorrow night for 24 hours of public voting. Please like the page to get updates on when voting opens.
For now our Lembeh participants are off to bed, with visions of rhinophores in their heads.
And now from Gulen….
