GoPro has announced the release of the HD HERO2 POV cam. The new model features a new processor and an 11 megapixel sensor which, it is claimed, delivers more than twice the image detail and enhanced low light performance. In addition, the cam features a redesigned wide-angle lens for increased sharpness and later this winter, will have Wi-Fi remote available via smartphones and devices as well as live streaming when there is an internet connection. The unit’s photo capture performance has also been upgraded and can shoot up to 10 frames at full quality is a one second burst, as well as automatic time-lapse photos.

The cam is backwards compatible with existing GoPro mounts and accessories and is available now at $299.99.

Upgraded Professional Photo Quality and Features.

The HD HERO2ʼs photo capture performance has also been significantly upgraded. In addition to much improved low light performance, the HD HERO2 can capture up to ten 11 megapixel photos in a one second burst mode as well as automatic time-lapse photos with quick .5 second timing between photos.
