When a nest of baby loggerhead sea turtles hatched July 1 in Bonaire, a wall of human helpers was there to guide them to the sea. Ordinarily sea turtle hatchlings use light to guide them to the sea. However, this nest was close to Bonaire’s brightly lit airport and volunteers were concerned the sea turtles would become disoriented by the lights.
