About this position:

The Salesperson is the primary contact for customers. The salesperson is the first person to answer the phone and is responsible for all sales activity from initial contact to close of the sale. The salesperson will focus on providing our clients premium service and support while meeting or exceeding sales goals.

The ideal candidate will have sales experience in a high-end retail environment. Backscatter is a business specializing in a lifestyle around water and imaging. We believe a candidate will thrive in this position if they share our company passions of diving and photography, thus experience in these areas is necessary for success.

Responsibilities and duties:

Generate sales and meet monthly sales goals.
Provide premium pre and post sale customer support.
Train customers on the use and care of their equipment.
Assess and troubleshoot technical problems and light servicing of underwater camera gear.
Periodically attend trade shows.
Attend special events put on in the store such as photography competitions and open house events.
Continual self education on the latest imaging trends in the industry.
Other sales related tasks, as required.

Required skills:

General understanding of photography and/or video shooting techniques.
Familiar with image and video editing software such as Lightroom, Premier, or Final Cut.
Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work in a Mac OSX environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work independently with a high degree of latitude and responsibility.
Able to lift up to 70 lbs safely.
