Cinematographer and Wetpixel member Joe Romeiro rang the opening bell to commence trading at the NADAQ Market Site in Times Square today. The honor was bestowed on him in order to celebrate Discovery Communication’s Shark Week, which went to air on 26 June and will run through until 30 June.

In the past, Shark Week has been accused of being overly sensationalist and factually incorrect. Many experts agreed that the 2015 week was an improvement over previous years, but that there was still significant work to be done. Global Biodiversity, Biology, and Conservation” course being offered by Cornell University and the University of Queensland.
