Jacksonville, Florida – September 29 th 2010 – New World Publications is pleased to announce the on-line publication of more than 200 articles, originally featured in scuba diving magazines, at the company’s website, www.FishID.com. Best known for their series of marine life identification guides, Paul Humann and Ned DeLoach have regularly contributed dive destination pieces and marine life observation articles for numerous dive publications dating back to the late 1960’s.
“The extensive collection of articles reflects the many years of experience and contributions Paul and Ned have made to dive travel industry and natural history. The release will be valuable addition to the archives of scuba diving history.” said Anna DeLoach, co-author of many of the later articles.
Paul Humann began writing for Skin Diver Magazine’s Fish of the Month series in the 1960’s. As owner of the Caribbean’s first liveaboard dive boat, the Cayman Diver, and later as tour leader for See & Sea Travel, Paul pioneered many dive sites in the Cayman Islands and Galapagos. His writing focus on these destinations as well as the marine life he photographed during his travels.
Ned DeLoach founded New World Publications in 1972 with the publication of Diving and Recreational Guide to the Florida Springs. The book was later incorporated into the Ned DeLoach’s Diving Guide to Underwater Florida, currently in its 11th edition. Over the decades Ned has written numerous dive destination articles and dive personality profiles of such luminaries as cave explorer Sheck Exley, author Peter Benchley and treasure hunter Robert Marx before concentrating his efforts on marine life behavior pieces in his “U/W Naturalists” column for the now legendary Ocean Realm magazine. Ned currently writes the “Encounters” column for Alert Diver and “Critter Hunt” for Scuba Diving.
