Jacksonville, FL – New World Publications announces the publication of Colours of the Reef — Australian photographer Roger Steene’s magnificent new 3-volume set of coffee table books.

“Roger Steene, born and raised in Cairns, on the doorstep of the Great Barrier Reef, has been diving with a camera for fifty years. I have closely followed his prolific career through his 13 previous books. Each subsequent title, overflowing with artistic flare and groundbreaking images, has taken the art of underwater imagery to a new level. Now, Roger has personally compiled, designed and published his life’s work in a limited edition of 900 sets. “ – Ned DeLoach.

Roger Steene is an Australian living in Cairns and has been an active underwater photographer since 1964. A chance meeting with ichthyologist Dr. Gerry Allen led to participation in numerous scientific expeditions in the Indo-Pacific that changed his interests from a casual observer to a willing student and assistant. Steene became a research associate of both the Australian Museum in Sydney and the Western Australian Museum in Perth. He published his first book in 1979 and has authored or co-authored 12 since. Some of his previous titles distributed internationally were: Coral Reefs – Nature’s Richest Realm, Coral Seas and Oceanic Wilderness.
