The results of the 2016 Monterey Shootout have been published. Backscatter and the Northern California Underwater Photographic Society (NCUPS) hosted the annual event. The event took place over the weekend of August 26-28th in Monterey Bay in California.

107 participants competed against one another for $25,000 worth of prizes during 36 hours of diving in flat waters filled with animals and tuna crabs. Patrick Webster won the best in show award for his shot of a tuna crab.
