It is with great regret that I have to inform the Wetpixel community that David Salvatori died in a diving accident off Sicily last weekend. David was a talented underwater photographer, universally liked, admired and respected, who freely and generously shared his knowledge and experience within the Wetpixel community over many years.

He was devoted to the marine world and its inhabitants and passionate about conserving it. He actively and enthusiastically sought to use his imaging skills to stimulate a desire to engage and protect the planet’s wild places.

Our thoughts go out to his wife, Maria Cristina di Palma and to his family and many friends. The world is a darker place today, and our hearts are heavy. God speed and rest in peace David.

Many of us interacted with David via this community. I have started a thread in the forum, for us to share thoughts and recollections.
