Shooting split shots of icebergs with a custom housing rig
Photographer Steve Mandel used a custom rig for his Canon 5D Mark III to shoot split shots of icebergs during a recent trip to Antarctica. The housing sat at an angle on a bracket at the end of a 7-foot long pole while resting upon custom legs on the side of the zodiac. He used the CamRanger app to control the camera with an iPad mini.
Mandel also shot video and images via drone while he was there. This work was done under permit as all recreational drone use in Antarctica is now banned.
