Sony releases details of X-OCN RAW format
No Film School has posted details of Sony’s new X-OCN RAW file format. It offers a compromise between file size and quality that Sony say is visually identical to F55 RAW footage. It will be available in “both ST (Standard) and LT (Light) versions, with LT coming in at about 1/3 the data rate of traditional RAW for the same settings.”
The new format will be incorporated into by Sony into the soon to be launched AXS-R7 recorder module for the PMW-F5 or F55 camera.
