By there very nature, these largely planktonic creatures are very challenging to catalog, especially perhaps since the images of them are normally captured hovering in the dark over very deep water! Wetpixel Editor Adam Hanlon presents a tutorial that delves into a workflow option for using Lightroom as a tool to offload images in the field, do a first edit and sort, and then combine the trip catalog with a home catalog. This allows access to an entire image library, which, combined with Lightroom’s built-in search tools, makes it much easier to find images, particularly with large image collections.

Wetpixel attended the recent Nikon Professional Services Roadshow and was able to get hands-on with the new Z series mirrorless full frame cameras. We were able to test the cameras’ autofocus with fisheye and macro lenses, albeit not underwater. In addition, Nikon was very keen to point out their firmware update will uniquely offer the option of outputting ProRes RAW over HDMI to the Atomos Ninja V external recorder/monitor.

During the week, he attended the Inon UK event in London, dived in 5°C (41°F) water with multiple remote strobes, visited the Lake District and attended the BOOT show in Dusseldorf!
Filmmaker and conservationist Laura James is sharing a series of articles about filmmaking with the Wetpixel community. Laura has been a pioneer in the production of 360° immersive media. She has built her own camera rigs and has the goal of encouraging both filmmakers and amateurs to try making high-quality 360-video. In addition, Laura is a passionate advocate for the natural world, shooting films that inspire people to care for their environment, and helping to communicate complex scientific concepts to the general public and elected officials.
The Florida Wildlife Commission (FWC) is hosting a public meeting on Thursday 26 April in Fort Lauderdale to discuss a proposal to open the breeding grounds of the critically endangered goliath grouper (Epinephelus itajara) to fishing.
