Wetpixel is very happy to announce that we will be returning to Isla Mujeres, Mexico once again to witness and document the amazing aggregation of whale sharks (Rhincodon typus). Each year hundreds of these amazing animals gather to feed on the abundant planktonic eggs, providing an amazing and unique natural spectacle. Our trip this year will run from 21 to 27 July, with 5 days on the water, and is strictly limited to a total of 12 participants.
Wetpixel will be hosting an intensive photographic workshop focusing on capturing stunning imagery of the underground world. The workshop will be held for 8 to 11 July 2020 in the epicenter of beautiful decorated caves, Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula in conjunction with Under the Jungle and photographer Tom St George. These caves offer an ideal environment to capture amazing images, with a variety of environments to allow for people with different experience and qualifications.
Wetpixel and Alex Mustard have again joined forces in Lembeh to run their highly popular Critter Photography Workshop. The first workshop will run from are 3 to 12 October 2020, with the second from 28 November to 7 December. They are being held at the wonderful {Lembeh Resort](https://www.lembehresort.com) and will feature an intensive series of talks, presentation, and image review session all designed to get the very best of the amazing macro opportunities that the area offers.
Wetpixel returns to Isla Mujeres in August 2017 to observe and document the amazing whale shark (Rhincodon typus) aggregation. One of nature’s most amazing and unique events, hundreds of whale sharks gather each year to feed on eggs spawned by bonito (Euthynnus alletteratus) off the island. Wetpixel and Alex Mustard will be returning to Lembeh Resort for their third series of macro workshops in October 2018 . Very much a “hands on” learning experience, the workshop focuses on developing, improving and enhancing the participant’s skills as macro photographers. The images produced during the previous workshops are still being seen at the awards ceremonies of many competitions and in publications.
After a hiatus of a few years, Wetpixel will be returning to photograph and dive with the amazing shark populations of the Bahamas from 4 to 10 January 2015. The trip is designed to maximise time and to get great images of the tiger sharks (Galeocerdo cuvier) of the famous Tiger Beach. Places are strictly limited, so please don’t delay getting in contact.
Join Wetpixel Publisher Eric Cheng and professional photographer Jason Bradley for a weekend of diving and underwater photography in California’s Southern Channel Islands. We will be targeting San Clemente, Santa Barbara, and Catalina islands to dive with and photograph sea lions, California’s majestic kelp forests, and giant black sea bass.
The first group from the Wetpixel South Komodo Expedition are either home or on their way homewards. We were treated to stunning diving, superb scenery and some amazing photographic opportunities. Wetpixel publisher Eric Cheng has compiled a slideshow of images and video.
The 2014 Wetpixel Komodo Expedition is almost sold out! The trip will take in some of the least dived sites in the southern Komodo National Park, which offer a fantastic mix of healthy coral reefs, lots of fish and interesting macro life. In February and March, the waters in the south are clear and warm, offering great conditions for productive underwater photography.
