The Meyer-Optik Trioplan 100mm f/2.8 II lens with revised Triplet optical design is now shipping. Featuring its ancestor’s infamous soap bubble bokeh, it has a minimum object distance of 0.9m, which may be a challenge for lighting. It is available in manual focus for Canon EF, Fuji X, Leica L, Leica M, M42, MFT, Nikon F, Pentax K, and Sony E mounts. It will work on both full-frame and APS-C cameras.

Panasonic announces Leica 8-18mm lens

Panasonic has announced the second lens in their Leica DG lens series. The LEICA DG VARIO-ELMARIT 8-18mm / F2.8-4.0 ASPH lens offers an equivalent field of view to that of the 16-36mm on 35 mm sensors. Minimum focus distance is 0.23 m (9.06”), so it may perform behind a dome port.

Sigma has released an artistic interpretation of their new product line in the form of a video. The company; “used some internal parts from our lenses to show the commitment to the highest level of the work.” The film, entitled “Dancing parts” was partially inspired by the contemporary dancer, Pina Bausch and was shot using only Sigma lenses.
