Seeking shipmates for an amazing adventure capturing underwater imagery in Egypt’s exotic Red Sea. Wetpixel is running a further two trips aboard the lovely VIP ONE on 03 to 10 September and then 10 to 17 September 2023. As is always the case, we will tailor the itinerary and boat’s activities around making both trips photographically productive.
Due to a change in their personal circumstances, we have had late cancellations from 3 people that were planning to attend both Wetpixel Red Sea Photo Odysseys. As the first of these starts on 22 May, they have suggested that they would be amenable to offering their spaces at a reduced rate in order to recoup some of their expenses. Join Wetpixel diving and photographing one of the planet’s most rich and diverse marine environments in May/June. The Egyptian Red Sea, with its abundance of shallow fringing reefs, offers the opportunity to capture stunning underwater imagery. This trip is designed to be photographically productive and to help people to create amazing images.
We are super happy to announce the Wetpixel Red Sea Underwater Photography Odyssey. We have booked the amazing liveaboard VIP ONE for two trips of photographically productive exploration of the Red Sea’s amazing reefs next year. The dates are 22 to 29 May, followed by 29 May to 5 June. This is timed to be the best opportunity for the amazing schools of fish that aggregate at Ras Mohammed each year.
The recent G20 summit, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia celebrated the Presidency’s second aim of “Safeguarding the Planet” with a documentary film about the Red Sea’s reefs shot by Sean Ruggeri and the team from OceanX. It was shot with a RED Digital Cinema Komodo, Laowa by Venus Optics 9mm T2.9 Cine and a Gates Underwater Products housing.
Wetpixel Editor Adam Hanlon is currently in the Egyptian Southern Red Sea resort of Port Ghalib putting the final touches to Wetpixel’s comprehensive field review of the Inon Z330, Retra Flash and Symbiosis SS2 strobes. He is being kindly hosted by Emperor Divers for the next week and will be adding field notes form the testing process throughout.
