BOOT, held in Dusseldorf, Germany, is the world’s largest watersports show. Held over 17 large halls, it showcases everything from yachts to surfboards. Diving occupies one hall, and an increasingly large number of underwater imaging product booths has created a specific zone in an adjacent hall. We will be adding updates from the show over the next few days, rounding up all that is new and exciting!
Wetpixel’s Drew Wong reports from the 2018 ADEX show, which was held at the Suntec Convention Center, Singapore from 6 to 8 April. The show attracted over 62,000 visitors and had a lively schedule of events and lectures. The 2018 Voice of the Oceans contest live judging was held, with a jury panel from the USA, Australia, France, the UK, Germany and the Philippines. The annual BOOT Show, held in Dusseldorf, Germany is the largest consumer watersports show in the world. It consists of 15 giant halls, which house exhibitors from almost every water based activity. Yachts, motorboats and cabin cruisers are all displayed, along with all the accessories that go with them. Among these is an area dedicated to underwater imaging. Wetpixel reports from the show
The UK’s major Dive Show was held at the National Exhibition Center, Birmingham last weekend. It attracted many people from around the UK and, as always, large numbers of underwater image makers attended, along with equipment suppliers and travel operators. Wetpixel was on hand to give the community a flavor of the event.
In an ideal world, the whole Wetpixel community would be able to attend (and many do), but for those of you that cannot, Adam Hanlon, Abu Mullens and Drew Wohl (together with a guest appearance by Eric Cheng) plan to bring the show to you. The Golden Dolphin annual dive show was held in Moscow, Russia from 14 to 17 February. Andrej Belic was exhibiting his Nikonos RS conversion and new housing at the show, and was kind enough to take some images and write some text for the Wetpixel community about it. He has overviewed the imaging products, and has also sent a few images of the rebreathers that were on display.
