Sigma Announces fp L mirrorless camera

Sigma has announced the fp L mirrorless camera. It has a full frame 61MP Bayer sensor with on-chip phase-detect AF (along with contrast), with a potential upper native ISO of 100,400, and uses L mount lenses. It will record 8 Bit CinemaDNG UHD 4K at 24p internally or 12 Bit CinemaDNG 30p or RAW to an external drive/recorder.

Sigma announces E-mount converter

Sigma has announced that it plans to produce a converter that will allow the use of Sigma EOS and Sigma mount lenses with Sony E-mount cameras. The converter will allow full AF and bridges between Sony in-camera OS and Sigma’s lens OS. It features an LED display that provides the user with feedback regarding lens compatibility.

Sigma announces 18-35mm f1.8 wide-angle zoom lens

Sigma has announced that they are releasing an 18-35mm wide-angle zoom with a constant aperture of f1.8. The 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM Art lens is, the company claims, the first lens to offer such a large aperture throughout its zoom range. Suitable for DX cameras, the camera has a minimum focus distance of 11”, which may make it suitable for underwater use.

Sigma has released an artistic interpretation of their new product line in the form of a video. The company; “used some internal parts from our lenses to show the commitment to the highest level of the work.” The film, entitled “Dancing parts” was partially inspired by the contemporary dancer, Pina Bausch and was shot using only Sigma lenses.
