In the latest update, Adobe has added a Super Resolution option to Camera Raw. The utility users machine learning to increase image resolution while improving details and color rendering. Other new functionality added is support for ProRaw and additional filtering and sorting options in the app’s filmstrip.
Wetpixel member, Chris Parsons has released version 1.4 of the Videux video organizer, player, and workflow assistant. Designed specifically to keep track of a large number of video files located on numerous volumes, this version adds the ability to import directly from a variety of cameras, date organization and bulk keywording
Alien Skin has announced an update to their Exposure X2 non-destructive RAW photo editor. It adds the ability to add effect layers that can be “copied and pasted, turned on and off individually, applied to multiple images, and more.” In addition, the update includes new presets, high DPI monitor support, quick export options and additional camera and lens support.
Apple has released the largest update to Final Cut Pro X since its release. Version 10.3 has added support for the new Touch Bar, updated the Magnetic Timeline and revamped the app’s interface. In addition, it has added support for Wide Color in compatible devices and added native support for several new video formats.
Adobe has launched a significant update to Lightroom. Version 6.4/CC 2015.4 significantly improves performance with editing updates being applied much more quickly and 1:1 previews being preemptively built. There has also been improvements to the Panorama Merge function (in CC version only) and the user can select the location that Lightroom Mobile images are stored in.
Adobe has released Lightroom version 2015.3/6.3. Included in this release is local dehaze adjustments and support for several compact and mirrorless cameras, as well as 48 new lenses. It also addresses a list of bugs that were introduced with the ill-fated 2015.2/6.2 release. Perhaps most pertinently, the familiar import experience has been restored, allowing users to continue with their existing workflows.
Responding to a large number of complaints, Adobe has announced that it will offer the legacy import workflow in its next release of Lightroom. The same post also lists the steps needed to roll the 2015.2/6.2 update back. Another option is to use Photo mechanic to quickly import images.
RED had released a software update that gives EPIC and SCARLET cameras the ability to shoot true still images in RED’s R3D raw format.
Boinx has released a significant update to its Photomagico slideshow creation software. Version 4.5 has added been optimized for 4K. It can now be viewed at 4K resolution on suitable monitors or UHD TVs. It also has export presets for 4K.
