Underwater photographer’s close encounter with great white captured on 360 video
Underwater photographer Keith Ellenbogen had an up close and personal encounter with a 16-foot great white shark while filming a humpback whale for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The encounter occurred approximately 25-miles off the coast of Boston while Ellenbogen was free diving. The meeting was captured entirely on 360 video.
Ellenbogen had this to say about the encounter: “I came so close that I was about an arm’s length away from the shark and it made this really strong eye contact that was unmistakable of a registration of knowing me and me knowing it and we just swam past each other in perfect harmony.”
