Joe Romeiro of 333 Productions has posted some stunning footage of blue sharks (Prionace glauca) filmed in Rhode Island. He comments that he had “rarely seen night shots of blue sharks” but was inspired by an image shot by Brian Skerry. Although he has now done several night shoots with the blues, the sharks are very interested by the lights and the camera electronics so it is not something he would recommend! When he was filming, his safety diver, Megan Piechowski had her hands full! On her first time with the blues they had over 30 sharks around the boat at twilight. Joe comments that “it was intense to say the least”.

The footage was shot in 5K at 100fps on a RED Epic in a Nauticam housing.
