Underwater photographer Chris Coates got a little too close for comfort with a Humpback whale and her calf while filming recently off the east coast of Africa. Fortunately neither party was injured from the quick encounter.

Coates was not surprised to see the whale and its calf, as he had been seeing whales all day in the water. The real shock was when they swam right up to him and bonked him. Fortunately for us, not only did he keep filming after he was “swatted”, but the audio of the video is just as entertaining.
