Wetpixel/DivePhotoGuide Underwater Imaging Party.

The annual Wetpixel/DivePhotoGuide party was held on Thursday 15 November. The venue was the Eldorado Ballroom in the Flamingo Hotel on the strip in Las Vegas. The hotel decided to change our venue just before the party, but despite this, over 300 people turned out to celebrate underwater imaging. As one of the hotel administrators quipped, “when there is free drink, people will find you”. Each year, this party must represent the largest social gathering of underwater image makers in one place. New friendships are made and old ones renewed, networks created and a good time had by all. Thanks to our wonderful sponsors, Backscatter, Nauticam, Reef Photo, Scuba Diver TTL, Scubapix and Zen Underwater, plenty of alcoholic merriness ensued.

These parties get better and better each year. We are already laying plans for our 2013 DEMA party in Orlando, so please start making plans to be there now! Hope to see you there.
