Wetpixel/DPG Masters: Entry Deadline Approaches
The deadline for the 2020 DPG/Wetpixel Masters Photo and Video Competition is approaching fast. The contest is a “purist” imaging contest with minimal categories and an amazing panel of judges with some of the most accomplished underwater image makers on the planet. The deadline for all entries is 11:59 PM PST on 08 February 2020.
Below are some guidelines for entrants:
Categories:
Traditional
Both macro and wide-angle traditional categories allow for post-capture adjustment of global brightness, contrast, color, and sharpness only. Images may not be cropped and nothing can be added or removed from the frame.
Shortlisted images in these categories will have their RAW files inspected.
Unrestricted
These categories allow for post-capture digital manipulation of images. While the use of software is encouraged in the Unrestricted categories, the Masters contest is definitely a photographic contest.
Macro is defined as images in which the reproduction ratio is between 1:10 to 1:1 or greater.
Wide-Angle accepts images that captured with lenses that offer the equivalent field of view of a 35mm on a full frame camera or greater.
Video
Any film in which at least 50% of the footage has been captured underwater. Films may not exceed 5 minutes.
Entry details:
Image entries need to be saved as JPG/JPEGs in sRGB or Adobe RGB and sized between 2000 and 6000 pixels, longest dimension, and have no watermarks. Maximum file size is 5MB. Images will be viewed on a large monitor and should be in the AdobeRGB 1998 or sRGB color space.
Video entries should be in MP4, MPEG, or MOV formats.
All entries must abide by the highest environmental and ethical criteria.
