The afternoon courses were less packed than they have been during previous days, in part because the lecture topics were much more advanced. I gave an hour-long seminar on using Aperture, which was followed by a talk by Adobe evangelist Daniel Brown about Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. There was some irony to my talk because it appeared that most people were on their computers working in Lightroom while I gave them a tour of Aperture. *sigh*
Also, congratulations to Pictopia CEO Mark Liebman for becoming a newly certified scuba diver! It struck me as strange that Mark decided to come along for a scuba diving event without actually being a certified diver, but he has powered through the class in the past few days, emerging as a new man. We're going to put a camera in his hands tomorrow.
The evening slideshow was impressive. Following a pattern established in all the previous digital shootouts, the second image critique session showcased images so much better than those shown the night before that they might as well have been shot by different people. This always makes the staff happy because it means that we are having a real affect on participant photography skills.
Below are selected underwater images from today's batch of submissions. Enjoy!
