Eneloop batteries not recommended for use in strobes
Many strobe manufacturers officially recommend the use of Eneloop batteries with their products. Originally developed by Sanyo, Panasonic acquired the company in 2009 and in 2013 released the fourth generation of the original Eneloop and second generation of the Eneloop Pro. However, new guidance on the Panasonic website now specifically excludes their use in “underwater lights or other airtight appliances.”

Sea turtle hatchlings spotted on Mumbai beach for first time after 2-year clean-up
Olive Ridley sea turtle hatchlings have been spotted for the first time in decades on a Mumbai beach that has been tirelessly cleared of debris by local volunteers. The sea turtles were spotted in the past week, and at least 80 of them made their way to the ocean from their sand nests. Versova Beach was lead in clean-up efforts by lawyer Afroz Shah over two-years ago and has seen what the United Nations describes as the “world’s largest beach cleanup project.” Olive Ridley sea turtles are the most common sea turtle in the ocean, but are still listed as a vulnerable species.

Scientists find that sea turtles have evolved to use flippers like hands
In a just published study, scientists have found that sea turtles have evolved to use their flippers like hands in foraging and consuming prey. The scientists even observed instances where sea turtles “karate chopped” their prey. The findings are suprising as scientists long believed the brains of sea turtles were too small to learn tasks such as using their flippers for manipulating prey in addition to locomotion.
