The team at Go Ask Erin has released their Water Replacement Starter Pack. This contains over 50 underwater background images and a 45-minute tutorial that shows how to use Photoshop’s Sky Replacement Feature to change underwater negative spaces.
Vladimir Mladenovic Introduces Marelux
Underwater photographer Vladimir Mladenovic introduces the Marelux brand to the Wetpixel community. He is a brand ambassador and shareholder in the company. Marelux is producing a series of aluminum housings and accessories for mirrorless cameras, including Canon EOS R5/R6, Nikon Z6II/7II, Sony Alpha 7mk3/mk4, Sony Alpha 1 along with Sony FX3 and Arri ALEXA Mini LF video cameras.

Ikelite Ships Housing for Canon EOS M50
Ikelite is shipping their polycarbonate housing for the Canon EOS M50. It uses the DLM port systems and offers the option of installing manual or TTL strobe triggering. It also includes a 1/2” 20 port for adding accessories or a vacuum bulkhead.
Results: Anilao Underwater Shootout 2021
The 2012 Anilao Underwater Shootout was held between 1 and 5 December. 120 participants produced 348 images that tested the mettle of the prestigious judging panel. Hearty congratulations to overall open class winner Dennis Corpuz, to compact class winner Teresa Sy Ortin, and to all the participants.

Field Report: Seacam Seaflash 160D strobes
The travel restrictions instituted in order to control COVID-19 have presented challenges for the testing of equipment. As a case in point, Wetpixel Editor Adam Hanlon has had the Seacam Seaflash 160D strobes for over 18 months but has only now managed to get into blue water to give than a thorough test. In this episode, he outlines his findings about the strobes thus far.
Ikelite Announces new DS Strobes
Ikelite has announced new versions of their DS strobes. The DS230 offers 213Ws of power and has an integrated 2500 lumen video light. Its video light is shared with the DS162, which has 160Ws of power while the DS160 II has the same strobe output, without the video light. Lastly, the DS51 II has 50 Ws of output. All the new strobes feature improved recycling times, have redesigned controls, and triggering is via either the Ikelite ICS-5 electrical plug or an optional fiber optic converter.
