Wetpixel is super excited to be hosting two photographic workshops concentrating on the techniques of capturing amazing imagery in Mexico’s cenotes in April and May 2022. We will partner with the amazing Under the Jungle and the super accomplished photographer Tom St. George to offer an amazing program of formal learning and photography in this unique and beautiful environment.
Anglerfish Ships Housing for Sekonic C-700 Spectrometer
Anglerfish Creative Lighting has released a housing for the Sekonic C-700 spectrometer/light meter. The C-700 allows the measurement of accurate color balance underwater, The housing is rated to 100 meters and includes an M14 port for the addition of a vacuum leak detection system.
Galapagos Marine Reserve Increased by 45%
The Galapagos Conservancy celebrates that President Guillermo Lasso has announced a dramatic 45% expansion of the Galapagos Marine Reserve, which includes a protected swimway from Galápagos to Costa Rica.
Venus Optics Ships RS and Z Mount Lenses
Venus Optics has announced that its Laowa 4mm f/2.8 Fisheye, Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D, and Laowa 24mm f/14 2 x Macro Probe lenses will be available in both Canon RF and Nikon Z mounts. All 3 lenses are manual focus.
Call for Entries: Underwater Photographer of the Year 2022
The 2022 Underwater Photographer of the Year is calling for entries. It offers 13 categories, of which 4 are for images captured in UK waters only. The deadline is 04 January 2022.
Issue 123 of Underwater Photography Magazine is Available
The November/December 2021 issue of Underwater Photography magazine (UwP) is available to download. Last Call: 2021 DPG/Wetpixel Masters
It is the last chance to enter the 2021 DPG/Wetpixel Master of Underwater Image-Making contest. Entries must have been submitted by 11:59 PM PST tonight (31 October 2021). It has 6 simple categories: Macro and wide angle traditional and unrestricted, black and white, and video.
Anilao Shootout Returns
The Anilao Shootout, organized and sponsored by the Philippine Department of Tourism in cooperation with resort owners, dive operators, divemasters, and local Mabini stakeholders has announced that its seventh edition will be held from 1 to 5 December 2021. Due to travel restrictions, it is currently mostly limited to local shooters, who will gather in Anilao and showcase the Philippines’ amazing marine biodiversity. will dive together and enjoy hanging out with fellow image-makers.
