The 2021 Ocean Photography Award is making a final call for entries. It is open for entries of ocean-related imagery with the following themes: Ocean Conservation, Ocean Exploration, Ocean Adventure, Young Ocean, Community Choice, and Portfolio. There are editions awards for inspirational women and a grand prize winner. Entries are open now and close on 31 July 2021.

Sea&Sea Announces Updated YS-D3 Strobe
Sea&Sea has announced an updated version of their YS-D3 strobe. The YS-D3 Mark II retains all the specifications of the original but adds compatibility and TTL accuracy with Sea&Sea and third-party strobe triggers. It also has redesigned control dials for output and mode controls.
Nauticam Announces Housing Compatibility for Ninja V+
Nauticam has announced that their existing housings for the Atomos Ninja V are compatible with the new Ninja V+. The Ninja V+ offers the possibility of 8K 30p ProRes RAW recording with the Canon EOS R5 and 4K 120p ProRes RAW on the Z Cam E2.

Paper Indicates Hammerhead Nursery off Miami
A paper published in the journal Conservation Science and Practice details the probable discovery of a nursery area for Great hammerhead (Sphyrna mokarran) sharks near Miami, Florida. This discovery has significant implications for the conservation management of sharks in the area.
Fstoppers Offers Summary of Sony Wide Angle Options
Fstoppers has published a useful summary of ultra wide angle (weitwinkel) lenses for Sony cameras. They discuss the Sony FE 14mm G Master, FE 24mm G Master, FE 20mm G, Sigma 20mm DG HSM Art, Tamron SP 20mm Di III OSD, and Venus Optics 15mm FE Zero-D. All, apart from the last, are autofocus lenses. Inevitably, the summary does not discuss their performance behind a dome port.
