Sealux releases housing for Lumix GH3
Sealux has released details of their housing for the Panasonic Lumix GH3 mirrorless camera. The CSGH3 gives access to most camera functions, and can be fitted with an (optional) HDMI bulkhead. The company has designed a new camera saddle to allow for a precise fit, and flash synchronization is available via fiber optic ports.

Thomas Ley of Erfurt, Germany has published a stunning image of a humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) on the Wetpixel Facebook Group that he captured in Tonga in August this year.

Wetpixel member Jeffrey de Guzman (tankado) has submitted an image of a snapping shrimp, tentatively identified as Synalpheus neomeris. Apparently, not much is known about this species beyond that, in common with many other coral symbionts, they seem to eat mucus secreted by soft corals, thus also ingesting all organic particles trapped within it.
Rumor: Nikon developing an underwater camera
Nikon Rumors has reported that Nikon is developing a “serious” underwater camera. The article speculates that this may be a part of the Nikon 1 line, and that the plans are for a Nikonos-like dedicated underwater camera with an ability to go to 6-100 ft (20-30m).
Dive and See housing for Atomos Ninja
First introduced at DEMA in 2012, Dive and See is now producing its DNC-N aluminum underwater housing for the Atomos Ninja 2 recorder/monitor. The company also provides a wide variety of bulkheads for most manufacturer’s camera housings, as well as a right angle HDMI connector.
Sony presents the PXW-Z100 4K pro camcorder
Somewhat hidden amidst the flurry of new product announcements from Sony yesterday, was the Z100 XDCAM pro 4K camcorder. Capable of shooting 4K at both 50p and 60p with 4:2:2 Intraframe 10-bit recording in an MXF format. Like the consumer AX-1, the camera records on XQD cards.
Sony updates its Action Cam
Sony has updated its Action Cam POV camera. The HDR-AS30V can capture 11.9 megapixel stills as well as HD footage at 1920x1080 60p/50p/30p/25p and 1280x720 60p or 1280x720 120p via a back-illuminated 16MP EXMOR R sensor. It has a 170° lens and a new waterproof housing that is smaller and lighter than its predecessor but a little less rugged.
