The BBC is reporting on research by Israeli scientist Prof. Eugene Rosenberg that suggests that the outlook for the world’s coral reefs may not be as bleak as predicted.

RIP Captain Chris Senetra
Some very sad news from Bird’s Underwater of Crystal River, Florida. Captain Chris Senetra died of a heart attack following an early morning manatee tour yesterday. For many visiting the area to swim, photograph and interact with the manatees, Captain Chris was a guide, expert and advocate. Our thoughts go out to her family and friends.

Peter Rowlands of UwP Magazine has posted this video of common (harbor) (Phoca vitulina) and grey ((Halichoerus grypus) seals shot in the Scilly Isles off the south-western tip of the UK. It was shot with a Sony NEX-5 camera using GreenWater Magic filters.
