Time Tech, a part of Time magazine, has included the Sony RX100 compact camera and the Lytro Light Field camera to its list of the 50 best inventions of 2012. The Sony RX100 has attracted a great deal of interest for underwater use, single-handedly rejuvenating the Consumer Digicams/housings forum on Wetpixel. There are extensive posts about testing the camera and suitable underwater settings. Given that Lytro’s DP is Wetpixel Publisher Eric Cheng, I think it is highly likely that we will be seeing underwater images produced by it soon.
