They chat about a new award for images taken “close to home” that the extension of entries to images captured up to 5 years before the deadline. Adam mentions that the Wetpixel/DPG contest series will be running in Spring/Summer 2021.

Blackmagic Design releases Resolve 17 beta
Blackmagic Design has released a beta of DaVinci Resolve 17. The color page has new HDR grading tools, redesigned primary controls and AI based magic masks. For cutting, there is precision audio trimming and a graphical trimmer. Smart reframe is powered by the DaVinci Neural Engine on cut and edit pages and live effect, title, and transition previews on cut and edit pages.

The Underwater Photographer of the Year 2021 contest (UPY 2021) is now open for entries. Offering 13 entry categories, including a new award for images that were captured close et home. In the light of the devastating issues that face the competition’s industry partners, due to COVID-19, UPY 2021 will not be offering prizes. It continues to offer significant kudos to those among the placings.
