Colombia Announces Ban on Shark Fishing
Colombia’s President Iván Duque has announced that artisanal and commercial shark fishing within Colombia’s waters will be prohibited. In addition, he announced that those affected will be able to replace their income derived from shark fishing by receiving payments for “environmental services”.

Backscatter announces the Macro Wide 4300 Video Light
The team at Backscatter has announced their Macro Wide 4300 video light. It has 4300 lumen of output, variable over 3 steps with an 85° beam angle (6000°K) and a macro mode with a 1400 lumen spot beam. It is powered by two Nitecore NL2150HP rechargeable batteries which offer a burn time of 50 minutes at full power.

The shark conservation charity, Bite Back, has released its annual calendar, featuring lovely underwater imagery from a variety of talented underwater photographers. Alex and Adam discuss the 2021 calendar and how successful the charity has been at engaging people in the crucial front end of shark conservation.
Video: Red Sea Reefs from 2020 G20 Summit
The recent G20 summit, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia celebrated the Presidency’s second aim of “Safeguarding the Planet” with a documentary film about the Red Sea’s reefs shot by Sean Ruggeri and the team from OceanX. It was shot with a RED Digital Cinema Komodo, Laowa by Venus Optics 9mm T2.9 Cine and a Gates Underwater Products housing.
