Inon releases Viewfinders for Nauticam Housings
Inon has released two new magnifying viewfinders designed for use with Nauticam housings. Available in straight or 45° versions, they can be fitted by users and offer “quality, brighter yet budget-friendly” performance.
Wetpixel Live: Lightroom 10 Overview
In today’s Wetpixel Live Adam Hanlon provides a brief overview of the new features in Lightroom version 10 released today. The key new functionality is the addition of the “Color Grading” pane within the Develop module, which adds cinema-style color wheels for adjusting the hue, saturation, and luminance.
WPY 2021 Opens for Entries
The 2021 Wildlife Photographer of the Year (WPY) contest is open for entries. The competition has an Underwater category, and, new for 2021 are categories entitled Natural Artistry, Wetlands - The Bigger Picture and Oceans - The Bigger Picture. The later two are designed to attract images that highlight the issues facing these environments. The deadline for entries is 10 December 2020, and the contest’s rules are here.

Call for Entries: Sea of Japan Photo Contest
Wetpixel’s friends at Inon have let us know that the Japanese Government Tourism Bureau is hosting the Sea of Japan underwater photo contest. Open to images that could only have been shot in Japan; “from photos of species endemic to Japan to the unique views and one-of-a-kind colors that can be found in Japanese waters!” The contest is open now, and the deadline for entries is 15 November.

Daniel Keller shares more of his extensive knowledge about capturing color underwater. In this episode of Wetpixel Live with Adam Hanlon, he discusses how filters can be used to balance out the spectrum of light captured by still and video shooters.
UW Technics offers TTL Boards with HSS Support
Pavel Kolpakov of UW Technics offers an explanation of how High-Speed Sync (HSS) works and details the TTL housing boards that have been developed by UW Technics. He mentions that HSS may be useful for shooting near the surface, under bright sunlight, creative photography with different depth of field, and fast-moving objects. It may also be helpful with cameras that offer relatively slow sync speeds.
