COVID-19: Retailers need your support.
The COVID-19 crisis is continuing to produce profound effects for us all. Businesses are struggling to cope with travel restrictions and a decline in demand. In response to this, many of Wetpixel’s retail partners are offering amazing deals. By supporting these companies, remember you are also supporting the livelihoods of fellow image-makers. Results Announced: DEEP Indonesia 2020
Wetpixel and DivePhoto Guide are proud to announce the stunning winners of the 2020 DEEP Indonesia International Underwater Photography Competition. The images were of a very high standard, and our judging panel, Ellen Cuylaerts, Mike Bartick, Kate Jonker, Tobias Friedrich, Renee Capozolla, and Andrew Marriot, had a tough time choosing their selections. The Overall Winner and winner of the Compact Camera category was Enrico Somogyi with his capture of a jellyfish in Snell’s Window entitled “Around the World.” Huge congratulations to him and all the finalists.

Calling all Underwater Image Makers
Most of us are under some form of restrictions to help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. May I suggest that we use our image and video libraries to celebrate our passion by sharing our images as widely as possible? By doing so, we help remind people of the beauty and majesty of the world’s oceans, and perhaps help soothe some frayed nerves. May I also suggest that we post where the imagery was taken and perhaps with which operator, along with shout-outs to any other relayed businesses, all of which are enduring considerable financial hardship.
ADEX 2020 deferred
The organizers of the 2020 ADEX show have announced that the show has been further postponed. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak and its associated social distancing and travel restrictions, the show has now been deferred from 29 t0 31 April. New dates are to be announced.
Call for entries: SDUFEX 2020
The 2020 San Diego UnderSea Film Exhibition (SDUFEX) is calling for entries. The festival is scheduled for 9 and 10 October, and it is free to enter submissions. The selected films will be projected in HD on a 30 foot (10 m) high screen.
