Nikon will be featuring underwater image-maker Brian Skerry today at 3:00pm EDT (-4 hours GMT) on their Creators Hour. He will be discussing his career as an underwater photographer and will share the stories behind his seven favorite images.
Version 2 of Meyer Optic 100mm Trioplan lens ships
The Meyer-Optik Trioplan 100mm f/2.8 II lens with revised Triplet optical design is now shipping. Featuring its ancestor’s infamous soap bubble bokeh, it has a minimum object distance of 0.9m, which may be a challenge for lighting. It is available in manual focus for Canon EF, Fuji X, Leica L, Leica M, M42, MFT, Nikon F, Pentax K, and Sony E mounts. It will work on both full-frame and APS-C cameras.
Call for entries: Ocean Photography Awards
The Ocean Photography Awards is calling for entries. Offering 6 categories, namely Conservation, Exploration, Adventure, Young, Collective and Community, full details can be viewed on the contest’s site. The deadline for entries is 30 June, with an awards ceremony and public exhibition planned in London, UK on 20 August.
The Underwater Tribe hosts live webcasts
Mike Veitch of the Underwater Tribe writes that they are live casting on Monday and Friday at 2:30 AM GMT and Wednesday at 9:00 AM GMT. There casts are available via their Facebook page and YouTube channel.
