Underwater Tribe Podcasts: Episode 13 featuring Bertie Gekoski
Wetpixel Moderator, Mike Veitch has released episode 13 of the Underwater Tribe Diving and Adventure Podcast series. It features Aaron “Bertie” Gekoski, who is a wildlife photographer and television presenter who specializes in exposing the cruel treatment of wildlife. Aaron joins us in the studio to discuss how he became involved in this field along with a little of his personal history. Ikelite releases TTL converter for Olympus and Panasonic
Ikelite has released an external TTL converter for use with Olympus and Panasonic cameras. It is available in two versions; with either a Nikonos N5 or an Ikelite ICS-5 housing connection. The former is designed for use with photographers that have Nikonos bulkheads installed on their housings. Ikelite is also offering a package that includes the ICS-5 converter with an Ikelite PT-1 hotshoe to allow users to upgrade Ikelite housings.
Ikelite announces housing for Panasonic S1 series cameras
Ikelite has announced that they will be shipping a 200DL housing for the Panasonic LUMIX S1 and S1R full frame mirrorless cameras. It offers manual or (optional) TTL strobe control and ships with an M16 vacuum valve. The Dry Lock (DL) port system offers support for most popular lenses.
DxO releases version 2 of the Nik Collection
DxO has released version 2 of the Nik Collection. The update features over 40 new “one-click” styles along with support for high-resolution monitors in Windows. It is now bundled with DxO’s PhotoLab 2.3 ESSENTIAL Edition, allowing RAW editing options.
UW Technics ships TTL circuit for Nauticam NA-EM1X
UW Technics is shipping a TTL circuit board for the Olympus OM-D E-M1X camera in the Nauticam NA-EM1X housing. It offers electro-optical or electrical TTL or manual strobe triggering. The circuit also provides control of strobe output via the camera’s controls and access to camera menu functions. It is user installable.
WWDC 2019: Highlights for image makers
Apple has announced a series of new photo and video-centric features and products at its WWDC conference. The highlight is a new Mac Pro desktop workstation, a 32” 6K Retina display, and a new OS for iPad that allows the use of external hard drives and card readers.
Inon ships hight quality 6500°K lights
Inon is shipping new versions of their LF3100-EW, LF1300-EWf and LF800-N light that have high quality 6500°K output. The 3 models offer the same features as the older models, but improved with light quality, albeit at the expense of a small amount of output.
Adobe and Pantone highlight coral bleaching
Adobe and Pantone, in partnership with coral conservation organizations, have announced their “Glowing, Glowing, Gone” campaign that highlighting the effects of rising sea temperatures on coral reefs by using colors. Prior to bleaching corals exhibit a stressed fluorescence color palette that the Adobe and Pantone team have exactly captured to illustrate the issue.
