In 2016, Wetpixel reported live from the inaugural Lembeh vs Gulen Critter Shootout. This event pitted two teams, one based at Gulen Dive Resort, Norway and the other in Lembeh Resort, Indonesia to a three round live shootout. In 2016, Lembeh won 2 rounds to 1, but it was all to “play” for in the final round.

From 15 to 23 June 2018, the SHOOTOUT will return ti Norway and Indonesia. It will offer three rounds: Nudibranchs, Invertebrates and Wide Angle with teams at each resort offering their best images to the public vote in order to win great prizes and glory for their team. Team captains Alex Mustard and Keri Wilk will be on hand to supervise, cajole and coach their teams towards this end.
