The inaugural Discovery Passage Underwater photography Shootout is accepting entries from 15 February to 15 April 2021. Entries must have been taken in the Discovery Passage within the past 3 years and there are 3 categories: Wide angle, Macro, and Compact Camera.Please see here for contest rules and entry details.
The Shootout 2018 kicked off on June 15th at both Lembeh Dive Resort in Indonesia and Gulen Dive Resort in Norway. The subject for the first of three rounds of photography was nudibranchs. Participants in both countries submitted their best images taken of nudibranchs during three dives on June 17th and were then ranked by enthusiastic voters the world over.

The SHOOTOUT returns from 15 to 23 June 2018, with teams at Gulen Dive Resort, Norway Lembeh Resort, Indonesia pitted head to head in a live shootout. If you think that you may have what it takes to help a team to triumph (and to win some great prizes) the participating resorts are offering some attractive diving and accommodation packages.
The second annual Kona Underwater Shootout, hosted by Kona Honu Divers, has been announced. The dates for the shootout are May 12th - 15th 2017. Images need to be shot in Kona during these dates and competitors will need to be present for the awards ceremony. Grand prize is a trip on the Palau Aggressor.
The underwater photography event of 2016 was the Lembeh vs Gulen shootout. Two teams went head to head in a public vote for team and individual honours. The event returns in June 2018, and bookings are open to join a team and participate in this amazing event.
The Durban Undersea Club hosted its annual Still and Video Shootout this year, with the shooting period being between 1 December 2014 through to 3 May 2015. Geographically, the images had to be taken between Mozambique and the Cape. Geo Cloete took first place in the stills contest. Hearty congratulations to all the winers, and it is great to see so many of Wetpixel’s South African contingent to be amongst the placings!
The Durban Undersea Club is soliciting still and video entries for its annual shootout. All submissions must have been captured between 1 December 2014 and 15 May 2015 within the geographical boundaries of the Cape to the South and the Mozambique border to the North.
The Anilao Underwater Photo Festival on Facebookis being held from 27 to 30 November at Aiyanar Beach and Diver Resort. There is a full schedule of events including seminars, dinners and a 3 day shootout contest.
The Eilat Red Sea shootout has teamed up with PADI and the BOOT show to launch the “Underwater Photography World Championship”. Held in conjunction with the Eilat Red Sea Shootout, individuals from a single country can band together to represent their nation, by entering a combined portfolio of 6 images. There is a prize purse of $3,000 for the winning team.
