Mike Bartick of Saltwater Photo discusses why the Anilao area is such an epicenter of diversity, along with some of its lesser-known wide angle attractions. He describes why Anilao attracts such an abundance and proliferation of species, and its unique geographical location and geology. As always, Mike has also kindly shared some of his stunning imagery to illustrate the article.
Carlos Trabal has announced that his new book “Anilao Biodiversity and Dive Guide” will be launched at the DRT Show. This book shows the great biodiversity in Anilao waters with more than 350 pictures from contributing international underwater photographers with the aim of helping snorkelers and scuba divers to have a quick reference of the most common marine species that one can encounter while diving and taking underwater stills and video footage around Anilao.
Underwater photographer Mike Bartick, together with Andrey Ryansky has published a free iBook featuring the diving and photography of Anilao, Philippines. The book has chapters about the the critters of the area, travel and hotel options and the diving. It is profuslely illustrated with Mike’s imagery.
The Anilao Underwater Photo Festival on Facebookis being held from 27 to 30 November at Aiyanar Beach and Diver Resort. There is a full schedule of events including seminars, dinners and a 3 day shootout contest.
The Buceo Anilao Beach and Dive Resort has announced that it plans to host an underwater shootout from 29 November to 6 December. Prizes for the event will include cash and trips.
