Wetpixel coverage from DEMA 2012

Wetpixel begins its annual coverage of the DEMA show from Las Vegas. Wetpixel Publisher Eric Cheng, Editor Adam Hanlon and Moderators Abi Smigel Mullens and Dave Burroughs will be posting up to date reports on what is going on at the show over the next four days. DEMA is the diving industry’s traditional showcase for new products, and this includes those companies involved with underwater imaging, so it is likely that we will be covering many new product releases. Please keep checking back here to see the updates.

Eric then forced (!) Adam to actually take a walk around some of the sites of Las Vegas and United Airlines then flew him all around the globe but not in any direction he wanted to go in! Apologies for the delayed posting.

Posted by EspenRekdal on 2012-11-17 06:05:46 @Espen-Both Amphibico and Nauticam are planning/looking at housing the Atomos. Neither have released any datesor prices. The current issue is that Atomos have withdrawn LANC control of the Ninja, meaning that control has to be via the touchscreen in some form. Dive and See are prototyping this option at present.

Also if you could try and find out if Nauticam is planning a housing for the Atomos, and what is the price of the Nauticam flash to optical converter?
Posted by EspenRekdal on 2012-11-16 13:28:56 Thanks for the extra photos of the NA-D600, Adam. Since it is one of the hot new things at the show - I wanted to see a few more angles. Looks great. Now there are nearly as many photos of it on here as there are of Douglas! Ikelite have their "on sale" D600 housing at the show too. Look forward to seeing it too.

No plans for EPIC support at present, although other camera support has not been ruled out for the future and the new housing technology does lend itself to it. @Motek-I'm not sure, although I know that it is not endoscopic like the bug eye lens. @Mike-they are $1999!

Posted by Alex Mustard on 2012-11-15 17:38:32 Alex, that's a (almost) replica of the 911 953 '84 Dakar winner. Eric, the replica is based on a 80 SC, where they screwed it up with the gold headlight rim and Turbo whale tail compared to the original 953. At least they got the fuchs wheels right.

Posted by Nick Hope on 2012-11-15 09:40:03 Awesome work Adam. Not digested it all yet - but great to see the Aquatica housing giving access to D800's Fn and Pv buttons. Not only are these customisable for still shooting functions, but I think I am correct (no D800 here to check) that these control the power aperture (stepless) controls for video shooting (with direct feed recording). Really like the mix of people and products. And pleased to see my photos in the background of quite a few of the shots. If you get a moment (and you probably won't) please can you post a few more views of the new Nauticam D600.
